Woollahra Libraries seeks a dynamic and self-motivated Library and Community Engagement Officer for a newly created role.

Responsibilities will include assisting with venue management, including set up and assistance for events and responding to venue hire enquiries from both internal and external customers. This position focuses on venue management, but also supports the Community Programs team in the promotion and delivery of library events and programs.

Your excellent customer service skills and experience in the delivery of public events and venue management will ensure your success in this role

This is a permanent full-time role working at the different Library service points and includes evening and weekend shifts.

We offer a three weekly time in lieu day, continued learning and development and other great benefits such as long service leave after 5 years.

Essential Criteria
• Completed or studying towards the qualification of Events Management, Recreational studies, Arts or Library and Information Services.
• Experience with the administration of events and programs.
• An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and independently, with proven time management and organisational skills.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise, consult and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Well-developed computer proficiency across a range of applications; knowledge and skills in current technology; and the ability to assist customers and staff in the use of this technology.
• Demonstrated understanding of WH&S and EEO principles.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Current Class C vehicle licence.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position.

Desirable Criteria
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol competency.
• Experience in venue management and/or library operations.
• Clearance to work with children as required under the Working with Children Check.
