UNE's Strategic Plan makes a major investment in new initiatives that will support a heightened focus
on research excellence and the University Library is acknowledged as an essential partner in the UNE
research strategy and an expert advisor on scholarly communication.

The most critical resource available to the University Library is its staff. The University Library is
undergoing transformational change to ensure that it provides the best possible support and
contribution to research. An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated librarians wishing to be
part of the new strategy.

To be part of this team, applicants will need to demonstrate the capacity to deliver outcomes that
contribute to enhancing research performance in the University and supporting researchers in the
changing scholarly communication environment, particularly in relation to data management, high
impact publishing and sustainable open scholarship.

Applicants will require a degree or postgraduate qualification, in library and information
services/management and be eligible for Associate membership of the Australian Library and
Information Association and a strong background in higher education or research libraries. Applicants
appointed at the higher levels of Manager and Senior Librarian will lead the rejuvenation strategy in
consultation with the Library Executive and will require demonstrated effective leadership across
